Based on your answers above, can you think of why the north of India remains cooler than the south in winter?

The position of the Earth is titled by certain degrees on its path around the sun and this tilt is constantly towards one side only. This means that one hemisphere of the
Earth is more exposed to the sun as compared to the other half.

India is situated just above the equator line (towards the northern side) and the Southern region of India is much closer to the equator than the Northern half of India. Therefore, the south in winter is warmer than the cooler north of India.
