State the aims and objectives of the Green Revolution.

Green Revolution refers to the development in the field of agriculture for improving production by introducing usage of High Yield Variety (HYV) seeds, fertilisers and modern machinery and tools. The objectives of the Green Revolution are:


a. To increase agricultural productivity.


b. To aid the small and marginal farmers.


c. To implement the usage of modern technology and techniques in farming.


d. To achieve self-sufficiency in the production of food crops.


e. To introduce HYV seeds, fertilisers and irrigation projects.


f. To globalise the agricultural world.


It can be well said that the Green revolution aimed at putting an end to the food supply problem at a global level.
