Explain three effects of ocean current.

Heat nutrient water and salt are distributed through ocean currents.

• Ocean currents affect the moisture distribution which in turn affects the rain distribution.

• When warm air over the oceans rises up and the cold air moves in to take its place, trade winds are generated.

• It allows the distribution of planktons which serves as food for different marine species.

• For example - Peruvian Anchoveta(a fish species) get their sustenance from the Benguela current.
