What are the main sources of information of the Vedic period?

The main sources of information of Vedic Period:


1. Rigveda: It is the oldest Veda, written in old or Vedic Sanskrit and composed by rishis. It is over 3500 years old and consists of hymns of gods and goddesses.


2. Other Vedas: Apart from Rigveda, there were 3 more Vedas- Samaveda, Yajurveda, Atharvaveda. These manuscripts tell us about their religious practices.


3. Material objects: Megaliths, tools, pots, weapons etc. tell about the social activities of the period.
