How are travelogues an important literary source?

Importance of travelogues:

1. They present a view of an outsider who will notice the differences in the places like culture, dress, food, administration etc.

2. They tell us what official sources do not usually say.

3. Often, travelogues compare different places which then become a good source of reference for historians.
