The scale of a map is given as 1: 30000000. Two cities are 4cm apart on the map. Find the actual distance between them.

From 1:30000000 it can be said that for 1cm on the map the actual distance is 30000000 cm, so similarly 4cm on the map is 30000000 × 4 = 120000000 on the ground.
