Why it is said not to wear nylon clothes while working in kitchen?

A person while cooking or working in the kitchen is in contact with the burner or stove. Unlike cotton, nylon is a synthetic fibre and shrinks on burning. Nylon cloths easily catch fire and blaze up with only a little spark. It sticks to the body and makes the burns more severe. Nylon fibres continue to stick on the body even after the fire is extinguished. On the other hand, cotton clothes do not catch fire easily. Therefore, it is advised not to wear nylon clothes while working in the kitchen.
