Q1 of 3 Page 130

In ΔABC, A – B = 33° and B – C = 18°. Find the measure of each angle of the triangle.

Given: A – B = 33°

A = 33° + B

B – C = 18°

C = B – 18°

We know the sum of angles in a triangle is 180°.

A + B + C = 180°

(33° + B) + B + (B – 18°) = 180°

3B + 15° = 180°

3B = 165°

Now, A = 33° + B

A = 33° + 55° = 88°

Also, C = B – 18°

C = 55° 18° = 37°

Thus, A = 88°, B = 55° and C = 37°.
