Major problems faced by weavers in India:

1. Demand in Europe for cotton clothes fell dramatically because of industrialization.


2. Numerous weavers lost any means of employment or advances.


3. Soon these textiles reached the Indian markets and most people started buying it because they were much cheaper.


4. Spinners, weavers, rural women and many others lost their livelihood.


5. Thousands had to migrate or find other jobs to sustain.
