Difference of two perfect cubes is 189. If the cube root of the smaller of two numbers is 3 find the cube root of the larger number.


Let the two perfect cubes be ‘a’ and ‘b’ [a>b]

Given,


a – b = 189 …[1]


Also,



⇒ b = 33 = 27


Putting in [1], we get


a – 27 = 189


⇒ a = 216



Required answer is 6.
