Describe your views on how cleanliness impacts national development and health and how you can encourage your locality and city to adopt cleanliness and promote healthy living?

1. Unclean surroundings become the breeding ground for germs, bacteria and viruses leading to various diseases and illnesses. These deteriorate the health of the individuals rapidly not allowing the working population to earn their daily bread. Because of this, the dependent population, i.e. the senior citizens, the children suffer and their survival depend entirely on the working population.

2. On the other hand, clean surroundings and a healthy lifestyle would result in a society that would now channel all their energy towards working hard and earning a living. Because the population is healthy, there would be very few days where employees fall sick on a large scale, thus inevitably increasing the productivity. This results in national development.

3. The families also spend less on medical expenses now, and this extra money at hand results in an increase in disposable income and could lead to increased sales and investment, thus increasing national development.

I can encourage my locality and city to adopt cleanliness and promote healthy living by taking the following measures :

1. During association meetings or another official/unofficial gatherings, one could make it a point to talk a little about how important it is to keep out surroundings clean, having access to toilets, segregating the trash before throwing it and also be aware of their lifestyle.

2.Small plays or performances with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as the central theme could be performed to increase awareness.

3. A small group could set out to clean up the common spaces of your locality. This would definitely set an example and motivate others to join as well.

4. Talking to people about the diseases and illnesses that could be caused due to unclean surroundings and also the long-term effects of an unhealthy lifestyle.
