Describe the demerits of democracy.

The arguments against democracy are:

• The leaders of the democratic nation keep changing, hence instability in the system exists.

• Great political competition and power play, hence people tend to use unfair means to get into power.

• The discussion and consultation at various levels leading to the delay in any process.

• Electoral competition tends to increase corruption.

• Many people who cast vote are naïve and illiterate and hence unaware of basic facts that lead to choosing of the wrong person.
