Muhammad Ghori invasion changed the course of Indian history. Do you agree? Give reasons in support of your argument.

Ghori invaded India in 1176 AD.

1. He first invaded Punjab and then fought the battle of Tarain with Prithviraj Chauhan.


2. Prithvi Raj Chauhan defeated Muhammad Ghori in Battle of Tarain.


3. In the 2nd battle of Tarain, Prithvi Raj Chauhan was captured & killed, marking the establishment of 1st Muslim kingdom rule over Ajmer in India.


Consequences of his invasion:


1. He was a Turk, and the political idea of Turkish sultan was centralized administration under a monarch. The same idea paved the way into India and led to the multi-state system.


2. The establishment of iqtas linked various parts of the empire to the center.


3. It gave India the ideals of centralized administration that escalated trade.
