Give geographical reasons:

Some marine islands are actually the peaks of sea mountains.

The ocean floor is the land beneath the ocean. It contains diverse submerged landforms. There are several submerged hills and mountains on the ocean bed. They comprise of various hills of various sizes. The peaks of some of these mountains come above the sea level. These are known as marine islands. Ex: Iceland, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
