The stories are narrated in a time span of half an hour to fifty minutes in general. The people who belong to the Thakar tribal community live in a village called Pinguli which is located in the Konkan region. These people still practice this Chitrakathi tradition. It is a source of employment for them. Apart from that, it is much necessary to preserve this tradition which is antique so as to preserve our regional or local culture.
