Q12 of 50 Page 15

A bag contains 4 white balls and some red balls. If the probability of drawing a red ball is 3/5, find the probability of drawing a white ball.

Given: P(Red balls) = 1/4

Explanation:

Let the number of red balls = x

Total balls = (x + 4)

Now,

5x = 3x + 12

2x = 12

x = 6

So, there are 6 red balls in the bag.

Now, total balls = 4 + 6 = 10
