Construct a triangle with sides 4cm, 5cm, and 8cm and then another triangle whose sides are of the corresponding sides of the first triangle.

Step 1: Draw a line segment AB of length 8cm.



Step 2: Now take 4cm in your compass and cut an arc above AB from A. And similarly cut an arc of 5cm length from B.



Step 3: Join the points A and B with the point where the arcs meet.



Step 4: Take 3 points namely A1, A2 and A3 on a line AX from A extending below the segment.



Step 5: Join the point A2 with the point B. And draw a line parallel to A2B.



Step 6: Join B’ with the point C’ made by extending the line AC and such that B’C’ is parallel to BC. The final figure is ready.
