v. Bholi’s heart was overflowing with a „New hope and a new life‟. What does the phrase „the new hope and the new life‟ mean

i. Hari Singh is both a thief and a human being. He being a thief always escapes from the police and rob the people. He first earns the trust of the people and waits for the right time and then misuses their trust and robs people. He started living with Anil in the intention of robbing him. But while living with him he changes his mind and his inner feeling force him to change his plan. He dropped the idea of stealing and decided to live like a normal human being. Thus, he did not steal this time and led a peaceful life.

ii. The necklace changed the life of the Loisel. They borrowed money at a greater interest rate in order to pay for the necklace which they had bought. This made them live a miserable life. They started living the life of a poor and Mrs. Loisel does all the household works. They also removed their servants and started doing all the work on their own. They lived the life of hardship because of the incident. This continued for the next 10 years with which she grew old and wrinkly.

iii. The qualities of the post office employees are that they are very hard working and are in an honest profession. They do their work ethically. In the chapter letter to God, the postman first laughed at Lencho for his faith in God. But later they understand his faith and mailed a letter to Lencho in the name of God. This made Lencho faithful to God and also helped him with money.

iv. According to Lencho, God would have sent him hundred pesos but only seventy pesos reached hi. On knowing this he again wrote a letter to God asking for the remaining money. But at the same time, he asked God in the letter to not to send him money via mail as the employees are a bunch of crooks.

I would not agree to him because he doesn’t know the ground reality that the employees only helped him with money, so he shouldn’t have called him a bunch of crooks.

v. The phrase new hope new life means a situation wherein we see the positive aspects of life with new hopes altogether. She wished to speak like everyone and wanted to become the most learned girl in the village. The new life is a life in which she will get lots of respect and when people will know him by his name only and not only with the name bholi.
