Describe the major protest which erupted in Saigon Native Girls School in 1926, in Vietnam. (CBSE 2015)

1. A Vietnamese girl refused to leave her front seat to let a local French student sit there.

2. The principal, a colon, expelled her. When students protested, they were also expelled.

3. There were open protests and the government asked the school to take back the students fearing that the protests would go out of control.

The principal agreed but warned the students that he would crush the Vietnamese under his feet.
