Define utility. Explain the diminishing law of utility.

● Utility is the amount of satisfaction that a person derives from the consumption of a good.


● When a consumer continues to consume more and more units of a good, the utility obtained from consuming each extra unit falls.


● After some point, it will become zero and then negative.


● This is called the diminishing law of utility.
