Find the equation of the circle with Centre (–3, 2) and radius 4.

We know equation of circle is (x – h)2 + (y - k)2 = r2 …. (1)


Here h = -3, k = 2, r = 4


Putting the values in (1) we get,


(x – (-3))2 + (y - 2)2 = 42


(x +3)2 + (y - 2)2 = 42


x2 + 9 + 6x + y2 + 4 – 4y = 16


x2 + 9 + 6x + y2 + 4 – 4y – 16 = 3


x2 + y2 + 6x – 4y – 3 =0
