It is not expected of educated people especially those in the judicial service to get into a panic about minor things.

OR

(b) Belief in superstitions always creates trouble for people. The monkey’s paw and its power was a superstitions belief. Why do you think the Sergeant handed over the paw to the White family instead of disposing it of ? How is it a warning to society ?

Lord Weston was responsible himself for getting into trouble. It was his carelessness that he forgot that he himself put a note in his pocket and the name of the gardener was Caeser. This reflects that he panicked easily and could be scared easily. He was also absent-minded and did not pay attention to details when he was feared.

OR

(b) Sergeant handed over the paw to the White family because he wanted to get rid of the blame. It is a warning to the society that one should not be greedy. If one goes against the law of nature to get things done, this will be possible only after paying a heavy price.
