(a) Saheb now works in a tea stall down the road. He is paid 800 rupees and three-time meal. But even then he doesn’t seem to be happy. The steel canister he carries now is heavier than the plastic bag he used to carry on his shoulders. Because now ‘he no longer is his own master’. He is a servant now.

(b) The poet wants to count to twelve because there are only twelve-hour signs on the clock to measure hours. Therefore, he asks us to count till the clock measures those hours.

(c) William Douglas tried every way to overcome his fear of water but with very little success. Then, one October, he decided to hire an instructor and learn swimming. He went to a pool and practiced five days a week, an hour each day. He got success in his mission after many efforts. The instructor made him an expert swimmer.

(d) Dr Sadao met his wife Hana in America at a Professor’s house. Hana was a beautiful Japanese. He waited to fall in love with her until he was sure she was Japanese. She was pure in her race. They were married as per the old Japanese way.

(e) The governor gives quite a satisfactory report about Evans to the Secretary of the Board. He told him that Evan had no record of violence. He said that Evan was a very nice boy. Evan was one of the stars at the Christmas concert. He suffered from weaknesses and that he was a congenital kleptomaniac.

(f) When Aunt Jennifer is dead, her tiger which was created by her will not die. They will survive her. They will go on prancing, proud and afraid. Aunt Jennifer will die, but her creation will survive.
