What do you understand by ‘domestic violence’?

● Domestic violence refers to the injury or harm or a threat to injury or harm caused by an adult male (husband) against his wife.

● It includes physically beating up his wife or emotionally abusing her.

● Abusing also includes economic, sexual and verbal abusing.

● According to the domestic violence act 2005, the term domestic includes all those women who live or have lived together in a shared household with a male member who is instigating violence.
