Write a short note on Lok Adalat.

Lok Adalat also known as People’s Court is an alternative approach to get justice if the case is pending in the court or at pre-litigation stage. In this court, all such cases are resolved in a peaceful manner. The cases usually solved are the simplest one and not complicated. Under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 Lok Adalat was considered as another alternative for seeking Justice.

Lok Adalat is headed by the retired judicial officer and two other individuals may be a lawyer and a social worker. The main motive is to bring both the parties on some settlement. Here, both the parties should feel satisfied and it is the most inexpensive and fast way of acquiring Justice.
