Explain the contribution of Lenin to the Russian Revolution.

Vladimir Lenin was one of the leaders of the Bolshevik group who believed in democratic centralism and regarded themselves as the part of the working class of Russia. The role of Lenin in the Russian revolution was as below:

• Lenin believed that peasants were not one united group as some of them were rich, some were poor, and some worked as labourers or as capitalists. He focused on this matter when peasants became the main part of the socialist revolution. So he suggested that due to such differences they could not become the part of the socialist movement.

• Lenin believed that society should remain disciplined and also controls the quality and number of its members and should not be like the society which was undemocratic in nature like Tsarist Russia.
