How did the blacks of South Africa fight against apartheid?

A. Since 1950, the blacks, coloured and the Indians had started their fight against the apartheid system. They started to protest marches and strikes.

B. The African National Congress (ANC) led the struggle against the policies of segregation. This included workers’ unions and the Communist Party.


C. They were also joined by many sensitive whites who opposed apartheid and played a leading role in this struggle. Several countries also denounced apartheid as unjust and racist.
