Explain the economic and cultural factors that influence the distribution

of the population in the world.


Factors that influence the distribution of population:

Economic Factors-


Minerals- Areas which are rich in mineral deposits attract not only industries but also skilled and semi-skilled workers as they generate huge employment.


Urbanization- In urban areas, people get better employment opportunities. Education and medical facilities that’s why people mostly settle in urban areas.


Industrialization- industrial areas provide job opportunities which attract people e.g. labors, transport operators, shopkeepers, and many others.


Cultural Factors-


Impact of religious or cultural significance- some places attract people who are religious and culturally significant. People also live in those areas where the culture is not too different from their own. e.g. Banaras in India.


Educational centers- People also want to settle in those areas which are important educational centers. e.g. Oxford University in England.
