Why is base band signal not transmitted directly? Give any two reasons.

Base band signal is not transmitted directly because


(i) Its higher wavelength will require the size of the antenna or aerial used for transmission to be very high.


(ii) For linear antenna, the power radiated is proportional to . Hence, effective power radiated by a along wavelength baseband signal would be small.
