Explain the mechanism of the following reaction:


First ethanol is hydrated by H+, to give C2H5OH2+.



Then, when another ethanol molecule attacks this C2H5OH2+ , H2O escapes out and forms C4H10OH+.



Next, deprotonation which is loss of H+ takes place for the stabilisation of the molecule which is CH3CH2-O-CH2CH3
