Gandhiji emphasized Hindustani for the national language because:

1. Gandhiji said that it is a composite language and enriched by the interaction of different cultures.


2. It was a point to unify between Hindus and Muslims and the people of the north and south.


3. It can be easily understood by the people and is an easily popular language for the general public.
