Why are alloys used for making standard resistance coils?

Alloys have a high value of resistivity. Alloys have low value of coefficient of temperature which keeps the resistance constant even at high temperatures. In addition, alloys are not affected by atmospheric conditions like air, mist, etc. Hence, alloys are used for making standard resistance coils.
