Write the IUPAC name of the given compound:

There are 2 carbon chains attached to O, the smaller chain attached to O is treated as –oxy functional group which is ethoxy here and the larger chain is treated as parent chain i.e. propane. The numbering will be done from the C adjacent to O and that’s why IUPAC name of the given compound is 2-methyl- 1- ethoxy propane.
