In the electrolytic refining of a metal M, what would you take as the anode, the cathode, and the electrolyte?

In the electrolytic refining of metal M:

Anode- The impure metal M is made the anode.


Cathode- a thin strip of pure metal M is made the cathode.


Electrolyte- A solution of salt of the metal M is used as an electrolyte.
