What are the characteristics of an ideal fuel (or good fuel)?

The characteristics of an ideal fuel are:

It must have high calorific value.


It must burn without releasing any smoke or toxic gases.


It need to have proper ignition temperature.


It should be inexpensive and easily accessible.
