Q4 of 30 Page 109

A racing car has a uniform acceleration of 4 m s-2. What distance will it cover in 10 s after start?

Given,

Initial velocity, u = 0

Acceleration, a = 4 m/s2

And,

Time, t = 10 s

Distance covered, s =?

Now, s = ut + at2

= 0 × 10 +× 4 × (10)2

= 0 + 2 × 100

= 200 m

Therefore, in 10 seconds racing car will covered a distance of 200 m.
