Q5 of 157 Page 852

The circumference of a circle is 22 cm. Find its area. [Take π = 22/7]

Let the radius if circle be r

Circumference of circle = 22 cm

2πr = 22 cm

2 × 22/7 × r = 22 cm

r = 22 × 1/2 ×7/22 cm

r = 3.5 cm

Area of Circle =

= 22/7 × 3.5 × 3.5 cm2

= 38.5 cm2

∴ Area of Circle = 38.5 cm2
