Why is India not able to perform to her full potential in iron and steel production? Explain any three reasons.

India is not able to perform to her full potential in iron and steel production because:

1. Coking coal which is essential for its production is expensive and limited in availability.


2. The power supply isn’t regular as power cuts are common.


3. Labour force is not as productive as it is in developed countries.


Explanation: India faces many infrastructural obstacles that hinder industries’ complete development. Lack of education and specialised training is a big drawback in the labour force.
