How many metalboxes of size 8 cm × 5 cm × 3 cm can be packed in a cardboard box of size 40cm × 40cm × 21cm.

Volume of cardboard box = 40 cm × 40 cm × 21 cm  
                                     = 33600 cm3
Volume of 1 metalbox = 8 cm × 5 cm × 3 cm
                                = 120 cm3
∴ Number of metalboxes that can fit in the cardboard box = 33600 ÷ 120 
                                                                                      = 280
