Skill Development is the need of the hour. -Anita/Arnav India is one of the fastest growing economies. But according a recent research by TATA Institute of Social Sciences, India is also one of the countries whose growth is hindered by unskilled workforce. The survey clearly mentioned that more than thirty five percent of the Indian youth in cities are unskilled. This makes them fall short of the qualities that are wanted by companies and as a result the job is filled in by others. The status of Indian villages is even worse. More than seventy five percent of the Indian youth in villages are strangling because of lack of skills. Basically, it needs to be clearly understood that mere educational certificates will not suffice. Men have to accept the fact that it’s not about how many thick and complicated books that one has completed. The new era demands skill- the ability to produce productive out. And productive output is possible only when skills are enhanced along with proceeding age. It is now necessary for the government to make more and more awareness campaigns about initiatives like ‘Skill India’ and other such courses which deal in a specific are of work. Practical experience is the only thing that can help India overcome such a situation. Lets walk forward to make India Skilled. |

Health Mela at St. Anne’s School New Delhi: A ‘Health Mela’ was organised by the initiative of St. Anne’s School in the School premises. According to Principal Mathew, the school took this initiative since on a recent survey made by the teachers proved that most of the parents were not health conscious. This was because of the immense work-load in office that they were going through. Because of the lag in energy levels, the children too were becoming unaware of good health habits. When the teachers noticed this and reported to Fr. Mathew, he decided to organize this health camp. The event was distributed into segments of three days. Each day had an event of attraction. Day one was glorified my the display of various fitness equipment’s which were extremely easy to use and user-friendly. There were people who volunteered to especially explain the functions of the machine to everyone who was interested. A free demo session too was conducted. Day two was a fun filled day for the students. Everyone took part in debates and plays to showcase the importance of good health practices and exercises. Day three was a day for parents. A ‘cook healthy’ training was held for the mothers and fathers. Every parent enthusiastically took part in it and the entire event was a great success. |
