Q6 of 54 Page 403

There are four men and six women on the city council. If one council member is selected for a committee at random, how likely is it that it is a woman?

Here total members in the council = 4 + 6 = 10, so the sample space has 10 points

∴ n (S) = 10

Number of women are 6

Let A be the event of selecting a woman

Then n (A) = 6
