Explain with the help of an example, the basis of classifying goods into final goods and intermediate goods.

The goods that are ready to be consumed are called final goods and the goods that are used in production process are the intermediate goods.

For example –

• If shirt is a final good then the textile material used in manufacturing the shirt is the intermediate good.

• If curd is the finished good then milk is the intermediate good for producing the curd.
