What filled Bholi, a dumb cow, with a new hope?

At school, the teacher assured Bholi that in a one time she would be able to complete an entire book. When she does that, she would be offered with a bigger book and so on. The teacher told her that with time she would become learned than all the other in the village such that no one would then be able to mock or laugh at her. People would start respecting her and Bholi would be able to speak without stammering in the least. All these filled Bholi with a new hope.
