Anne’s diary is as important for Anne as any other character in the annexe. What is your opinion?

Anne’s diary was as significant to her as any other character because she did not have any friend to share her feelings and emotions with. She received it as a birthday present when she turned thirteen and named it Kitty. The diary came to her rescue because it was her constant companion in her loneliness. She treated it as a dear friend and confided and vented out her feelings in her entries. She never kept anything from her diary and wrote down every event in her life including quarrels with her family and neighbours. She wrote down her experiences from war, the trauma, frustration, anxiety, anger, sadness etc. over the political and social situations during the war including the mistreatment of Jews by Germans. The diary is as constant as a soul mate.
