Given: Total surface area of cube = 864 cm2

And total surface area of cube is given by,


Total surface area = 6(side)2


Substituting values in the above equation,


864 = 6(side)2


⇒ (side)2 = 864/6 = 144


⇒ side = √144


⇒ side = 12


If the length of side of cube is 12 cm, then volume is given by


Volume = (side)3


⇒ Volume = (12)3


⇒ Volume = 1728


Thus, volume of cube is 1728 cm3.
