If x varies inversely as y. then


if x varies inversely as y, then

xy = k(constant) …(1)


if x = 60 and y = 10


∴ xy = 60× 10 = 600


⇒ k = 600


When y = 2, then from Eq. (i)


x × 2 = k


⇒ 2x = 600


⇒ x = 300
