So, the modal class = 60-80

f1 = frequency of the modal class = 61


f0 = frequency of the class preceding the modal class = 52


f2 = frequency of the class succeeding the modal class = 38


Substituting values in the formula of mode,

⇒ Mode = 60 + 5.625


⇒ Mode = 65.625


Thus, modal lifetime of the components is 65.625 years.
