In a stethoscope, sound of heart beats travel through stethoscopes tube

Sound can get reflected a number of times before reaching us. In multiple reflections of sound waves, they add up and the loudness increases. In a stethoscope, the sound of a patient’s heart beat is guided along the tube to the doctor's ears by multiple reflections. The figure below describes the multiple reflections in stethoscope.
