Let us find the value of a, if one root of the equation x2+ax+3=0 is 1

The given equation is

Given one of the roots is 1.


So, 1 must satisfy the equation.


∴ (1)2 + a × 1 + 3 = 0


⇒ 1 + a + 3 = 0


⇒ a + 4 = 0


⇒ a = -4


Therefore, the value of a is -4.
