A closed box is 40 cm long, 50 cm wide and 60 cm deep. Find the area of the foil needed for covering it.

Given: Length (l) = 40m

Breadth (b) = 50m


Height (h) = 60m


Total Surface Area of a cuboid = 2{(l × b) + (b × h) + (h × l)}


= 2 (40 × 50 + 50 × 60 + 60 × 40)


= 2 (2000 + 3000 +2400)


= 2 (7400) = 14800cm2
